ANA MERINO, OMAGGIO A UNA DELLE NOSTRE VOLONTARIE SPAGNOLE, by Fermin Perez Martin

http://scoobymedina.blogspot.it/2013/11/a-hommage-to-one-of-our-spanish.html?spref=fb  Un tributo da parte di Fermin Perez Martin ad Ana Merino, una volontaria di Scooby che si prende cura, con amorevolezza e con il sorriso sempre sul volto, degli anziani di Scooby. Un grazie carico di riconoscenza anche da parte di tutti noi, che hanno adottato un galgo da Scooby… magari non tanto giovincello. “Certamente una delle principali preoccupazioni che ho avuto nei miei anni a Scooby, è stata di trovare una persona che lavorasse, pagata, per esempio per dare da mangiare e pulire gli animali, così da non dipendere dal numero dei volontari presenti e con del tempo a disposizione per aiutare. La verità è, che ci sono anche altri compiti che i volontari possono fare, e bene. Gli animali non potrebbero essere accuditi in un certo modo, se non fosse per loro, così come alcuni lavori di promozione, come andare alle scuole o coordinare i lavori. Nulla di tutto questo potrebbe essere fatto, senza gli sforzi dei volontari. Loro sanno che il loro aiuto è necessario, anche se spesso si sentono poco apprezzati. Niente potrebbe essere più lontano dalla verità.  Noi invece li apprezziamo molto: i volontari sono l’anima di Scooby, ma sono importanti soprattutto per gli animali. In particolare, la nostra gratitudine va a una volontaria: Ana Merino, una persona molto tranquilla che preferisce la compagnia degli animali a quella degli umani. Il suo interesse principale sono gli animali e loro la ringraziano per questo. Ana è sempre molto contenta di lavorare a Scooby, prendersi cura  degli animali che vivono del patio e dei vecchietti. Ogni giorno i cani la aspettano per mezz’ora prima che lei arrivi. Se qualsiasi altro di noi passa di lì, loro non guardano. Ma appena sentono la sua macchina arrivare, sono pieni di gioia e, senza dubbio, la considerano il loro angelo custode e la loro amica. Ogni giorno i cani la aspettano prima del suo arrivo… e il giorno successivo di nuovo. Per me è fantastico che abbiano un’amica così fidata come lei, specialmente i vecchietti. Loro sono tutti per Ana, e loro sono tutto per lei. Grazie Ana per prenderti cura di loro e, per favore non ti stancare mai di farlo, i vecchietti hanno bisogno di te”. For sure one of the principle concerns I have had during my years at Scooby was to have someone as a worker that could be paid, for instance to do the cleaning, feed the animals, not to be dependent on what number of volunteers was present and had the time to do so. The truth is that there are other jobs that the volunteers can do and which they do very well, some care could not be given to the animals if it weren’t for the presence of volunteers, as well as many other promotional tasks, go to schools, coordination jobs that could not be done without the efforts of volunteers, who know that their help is required but often feel underappreciated, but nothing is further from the truth as in reality we appreciate them very much, which you need and want, the people who make up the fabric of Scooby but mainly for our animals. At the same time all has to be said, I would like to put a face to our gratitude which is one volunteer in particular, whose name is Ana Merino, a very quiet person who prefers animals over humans, her main interests are the animals and the animals thank her for  that, she is very exited about going to work at Scooby, to observe all the animals living in the patio and the oldies,  every day, the dogs are expecting her for half an hour before she even arrives, when any other one of us passes by they don’t stir but as soon as they see her car pulling up they are besides themselves with joy, undoubtedly they consider her their guardian and their friend, well every morning they are taking their places half an hour before Ana’s arrival and the next day they are taking their places again, to me it’s quite exciting that they have a trusted companion like her, especially the oldies. The oldies are everything to Ana and she is everything to them.   Thank you Ana for taking care of them and please never grow tired of caring for them, as our oldies need you.   Fermín © Riproduzione riservata
